Good Neighbors Theatre plans to produce The Sound of Music in October, directed by Melva Nunnery, with musical direction by Kathy Hicks, and choreography by Amanda Hatfield.

Auditions are scheduled for Monday July 28 and Tuesday July 29 at Good Neighbors Theatre on Highway 111 at 6:00 PM each evening.

GNT is pleased to announce Peoples Bank and Trust of Pickett County as Corporate Sponsor of the 2014-2015 Season with a blockbuster production as the first play of the season. Partial production funding is also being provided by a Community Foundation of Tennessee Grant.

This will be a huge production of an immensely popular play and a great opportunity for new people to take the stage.

The production requires a lot of people to fill a very large cast.

Even if you’ve never been on stage before, there are many places for extras with non singing roles. We will also need a large group of nuns who will sing together and can be ladies of any age.

Auditions are for all of the following parts (note that for the ages suggested, you only need to look around that age, not necessarily be that age).

Also anyone interested in helping with set construction, costumes, props, helping with behind the scenes, and helping with the children during the production, please also attend auditions or contact Melva Nunnery at 931-864-3515 or rnunnery@twlakes.net. Keep up with Good Neighbors Theatre on the GNT Facebook page.

This play is a classic and favorite of many. The final collaboration between Rodgers and Hammerstein was destined to become the world’s most beloved musical. The motion picture version remains the most popular movie musical of all time.
