John Ross Albertson, 24, has been named as the Tennessee Tech University Athletics Coordinator where he will oversee all equipment needs and usage for the entire Golden Eagle Athletics program.

He is the son of Johnny and Patricia Albertson of Cookeville, Tennessee and formerly of Albany, and the grandson of Jack Albertson and the late Joyce Albertson, and Audie Pyles and the late Wendell Pyles, of Albany.

In his new position, Albertson will handle purchasing, inventory and budget management, oversight of safety and maintenance, distribution, and collection of all athletic equipment within NCAA guidelines.

As part of the job duties, Albertson will handle equipment contract negotiations, travel arrangements, purchasing of apparel for all sports at the university.

He is currently enrolled as a graduate student in sport management, and is expected to receive his master’s degree in May 2015.
