Danny Dwight Dowdy, 58, of Byrdstown, Tennessee, passed away with his son, Cody, on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at their business in Static, Tennessee.

Danny was a longtime businessman and an active farmer. He was preceded in death by his father, Hershel, two brothers, Kirby and David D. Dowdy, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Willie F. “Buck” and Pauline Capps Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Pauletta Smith Dowdy: his mother, Ora Zachary Dowdy, both of Byrdstown, Tennessee; his daughters, Marilyn (Donnie) Edwards and Rebecca Dowdy of Albany, Kentucky, Ashley (Chad) Elmore of Byrdstown, Tennessee; his sister, Anna Dowdy (Lonzie) Reagon of Byrdstown, Tennessee; his brother, Howard Dowdy of Livingston, Tennessee; his sister-in-law, Tammy Dowdy (Teddy) Martin of Byrdstown, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Dannica Wood, Austin Edwards, Evan Elmore, Davin Wood and Harrison Elmore; plus a host of other relatives and friends.

A joint funeral service for Danny and Cody Dowdy will be conducted on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Chapel in Byrdstown, Tennessee with Bro. Andy Cope officiating.
