Class of ‘74 planning meeting

The Clinton County High School Class of 1974 will have a class reunion planning meeting Monday, August 25 at 6:30 p.m. at Lee’s Famous Recipe in Albany. All persons interested in helping with the class reunion are asked to please attend.

Soil Conservation Meeting

The Clinton County Soil Conservation District will hold its monthly meeting Friday, August 22nd at 8:30 A.M in the conference room of the FSA/NRCS office. The meeting is open to the public.

Daughters of American Revolution to host

membership recruitment meeting in Monticello

The Nicholas Mercer Chapter DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) is hosting a membership recruitment meeting for those women in this area who are interested in becoming members.

Any woman eighteen years or older may join the DAR by documenting her lineage to an ancestor, either male or female, who materially aided in the cause of American independence through military, civil, or patriotic service.

Kathy Moats, a volunteer genealogist from Richmond, Kentucky, who has been assigned to the local chapter, will be in Monticello on Thursday, August 28 at 6:00 p.m. at the Wayne County Historical Society’s Elizabeth Furr Duncan Library, 65 N. Main St. in Monticello, to help guide prospective members through the application process.

Extension Office offering

‘Is Your Home Making You or Your Family Sick?’ class

On average, Americans spend roughly 90 percent of their time indoors. Recent studies show that the air in our homes and other buildings can be more polluted than the outdoor air. A “Is Your Home Making Your or Your Family Sick?” class will be held at the Clinton County Extension Office on August 21st at 11:00 a.m. and another one at 4:00 p.m. The class will focus on general indoor air quality issues, mold and mildew, and radon. Learn how to assess your own home for indoor air quality problems as well. For more information, contact the Extension Office at 387-5404.

Make Your Own Fall Wall Hanging Class offered by Extension Office

Are you ready to decorate for the fall? Put your creativity and sewing skills to work by attending a Make Your Own Fall Wall Hanging class on Thursday, August 28th at 5:00 p.m. at the Clinton County Extension Office. The class will be taught by Master Clothing Volunteer Anna Norris. Registration fee is $5.00. Participants will also need to bring basic sewing supplies (pins, scissors, neutral colored thread, etc.) Class size is limited, so preregistration is required. Grain crops update August 20

A grain crops update will be presented by UK specialist Carrie Knott via Microsoft Lync at the Clinton County Extension Office on Wednesday, August 20th at 8:30 a.m. All producers are invited to attend; this is part of a summer series of grain crop meetings conducted by the UK Extension Service.
