Dawgs grab second straight win

Clinton County had plenty of reason to celebrate after Friday night’s win over the visiting Raiders of McCreary Central on Bulldog Field.

The big 44-24 Clinton County victory sends the Dawgs into Friday night’s contest on top with a 2-1 record for this still young season.

A more detailed account of last week’s game can be found elsewhere in Sports, but again, and for the second week in a row – a big congrats to Coach Miller, his entire staff and of course the Bulldogs on a win – this one being “back to back”.

Coming up next . . .

Clinton County’s third straight home contest – out of a five game home stand on the schedule this year – will see the Bulldogs facing off against the Cavaliers of Jenkins High School.

The Cavs come to Clinton County with a 0-1 record this season, having lost last week to Allen Central, a team that isn’t on Clinton County’s schedule, by a score of 40-14.

Gates open at Bulldog field at about 5:30 for the scheduled kickoff of 7:00 p.m. Weather is expected to be great for high school football – bring a jacket with a game time temperature prediction of the mid to low 60s with clear skies.

Come early for the festivities

This Friday night will be Homecoming Night for Clinton County at Bulldog field, with the pre-game Homecoming festivities getting underway at about 6:30 p.m.

Also this Friday night, the Bulldogs will honor cancer survivors from the area. All cancer survivors who would like to participate in this special ceremony should make it a point to attend Friday night’s game. The special recognition ceremony will take place at halftime.

Concrats to two CCHS golfers – round II

I always enjoy pointing out achievements that are earned by our local youth, and for the second straight week we’re going to send out congrats to golfers – this time a couple of members of our Lady Golf Dawgs team.

Samantha Stinson and London Honeycutt were both top finishers individually in last weekend’s Lady Raider Invitational Tournament.

London finished in 4th place individually with an 18 hole score of 91, while Samantha finished in a 5th place tie after carding a 93.

The tournament was played on Paul Walker Golf Course in Bowling Green.
