Beef Quality Assurance to meet October 23

A Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) meeting will be held on Thursday October 23, at 6:00 p.m. at the Clinton County Extension Office. A BQA number is required for producers that are receiving cost-share on the genetics portion of the CAIP. These meetings will also serve as an educational component of the cost-share program. Farm Bureau taking fruit orders

The Clinton County Farm Bureau is now taking fruit orders. Orders must be placed before Wednesday, October 29. Call 387-6633 or come by the Farm Bureau office to place your order.

Absentee voting machines open

The County Clerk’s office reminds voters who will be out-of-the county on election day that the absentee voting machines in the clerk’s office are now open through Monday, November 3 (the day before election day). Voters who will be absent from the county may vote Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

Clinton Retired Teachers meeting

Clinton County Retired Teachers will meet Tuesday, October 21 at 11 a.m. at Lee’s Famous Recipe.

Clerk’s office Foothills hours

The County Clerk’s office will be closed from 12 noon Friday and Saturday, October 17 and 18 for the Foothills Festival. The office will reopen Monday, October 20 at 8 a.m.

CCHS Class of ‘62 meeting

The CCHS Class of 1962 will meet Saturday, October 18 at 9 a.m. Central Time at McDonald’s in Albany.

CCHS Class of ‘64 reunion

The Clinton County High School Class of 1964 will have a 50th reunion on Saturday, October 18 at 5 p.m. at Dale Hollow Lake State Park private dining room. Reservations are not required. All who attend can order buffet from the menu and pay their own check. If you were a member of the Class of ‘64, please join us for dinner and reminiscing. Fiscal Court special meeting

Clinton County Fiscal Court will hold a special call meeting Thursday, October 16 at 5 p.m. at the county maintenance building in south Albany behind Patriot Industries. The meeting is open to the general public. 52-2

Window Display Contest

The Foothills Festival Committee encourages all businesses in and around the Albany square to decorate its windows. They will be judged Thursday, October 16 between 6 and 7 p.m. To enter, please call Mary Pennycuff at 606-387-7504 or 306-4454. The theme is “Autumn Glory.” 52-2

Class of ‘59 get-together

The CCHS Class of 1959 get-together will be Saturday, October 18 at 2 p.m. at McDonald’s in Albany. All classmates and friends are welcome to attend.

All members of the CCHS Class of 1956 are invited to meet for breakfast at the Farmhouse Restaurant, Byrdstown, Tennessee, on Saturday, October 18 at 8 a.m. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

The Clinton County High School Class of 1960 will have a gathering (Foothills Festival weekend) on Saturday, October 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Albany Elementary. There will be a reunion planning meeting at 11 a.m. Please remind classmates, friends and sponsors to attend!

Open Medicare enrollment assistance

Concealed weapons class coming to Twin Lakes Wellness

Coming November 1st to Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center, Jennifer Warinner will be teaching a concealed weapons class. The cost of the class will be $75 for concealed carry/safety. The class is eight hourslong. Part of this class will take place at the gun range. The cost of the class is $75. Deadline for sign up is October 24.Gift certificates are available to purchase. 50-4p
