2014 Foothills Festival

A huge field of 185 runners registered for Saturday morning’s Foothills Festival 5K run that got underway from the Mountain View Recreation Park at 8:00 a.m. and made it’s way to the finish line near Dyer Drug at the courthouse square. Many of the runners stayed for the awards ceremony and group photo.

Shannon Roeper of Albany was the first female to cross the finish line early Saturday morning in the Foothills 5K Run. She finished with a time of 22:27. At right, overall 5K winner was Levi Owens of Burkesville, who ran the race with a time of 18:10. Owens is also a member of the Cumberland County High School Cross Country Team.

The first Foothills Festival event to get busy with participants Saturday morning was the registration tables for the 5K Run at Mountain View Recreation Park. Runners of all ages made up the field, with 185 competitors signing up for the race.
