Beef Quality Assurance to meet October 23

A Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) meeting will be held on Thursday October 23, at 6:00 p.m. at the Clinton County Extension Office. A BQA number is required for producers that are receiving cost-share on the genetics portion of the CAIP. These meetings will also serve as an educational component of the cost-share program. Farm Bureau taking fruit orders

The Clinton County Farm Bureau is now taking fruit orders. Orders must be placed before Wednesday, October 29. Call 387-6633 or come by the Farm Bureau office to place your order.

Absentee voting machines open

The County Clerk’s office reminds voters who will be out-of-the county on election day that the absentee voting machines in the clerk’s office are now open through Monday, November 3 (the day before election day). Voters who will be absent from the county may vote Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

Open Medicare enrollment assistance

Sonya Caldwell, SHIP Coordinator for the Lake Cumberland Area, will be at Clinton County Senior Citizen Center to help Medicare recipients with their open enrollment needs. The date is October 31 from 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Please call Sonya at 1-800-264-7093 to make an appointment

Concealed weapons class coming to Twin Lakes Wellness

Coming November 1st to Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center, Jennifer Warinner will be teaching a concealed weapons class. The cost of the class will be $75 for concealed carry/safety. The class is eight hours long. Part of this class will take place at the gun range. The cost of the class is $75. Deadline for sign up is October 24. The Clinton County Middle School Site Based Decision Making Council will meet on the first Monday of the month in the Conference Room at 4:30 on the following dates: November 3, 2014, December 1, 2014, January 5, 2015, February 2, 2015, March 2, 2015, April 6, 2015, May 4, 2015 and June 1, 2015.

degree program

A Civil War degree in full dress Fellow Craft degree program will be held Thursday, October 23 at Byrdstown Lodge #496. There will be a meal at 6 p.m. with degree work at 7 p.m. All Albany Lodge members are also invited.

Clinton Relay for Life meeting

The Clinton County Relay For Life Committee will meet Tuesday, October 28 at 5 p.m. at the Early Childhood Center. All team captains and new teams are urged to attend.

District to meet

The Clinton County Soil Conservation District will hold its monthly meeting Friday, October 31 at 8:30 a.m. in the conference room of the FSA/NCRS office. The meeting is open to the public.

The Recreation Park Board will hold its regular meeting Thursday, October 30 at 6 p.m. at Mountain View Park. The meeting is open to the general public.

Family Spooky Story Night

Clinton County Public Library will host “Family Spooky Story Night” Tuesday, October 28 at 5 p.m. Come join us for Halloween themed games and snacks and spooky storytelling at 5:30 and repeating at 6 p.m. It might be scary, it might be a fright, but we’re sure it will be a spooky fun night!

CCHS Open House and

Title I Parent meeting

Clinton County High School will be hosting Open House and Title I Parent Meeting on Thursday, October 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. Report cards will be distributed, and teachers will be available to meet with parents. A parent ILP (Individual Learning Plan) help session will be held in the computer lab, room 140. All parents are encouraged to attend.
