Several local and state government officials joined Albany Fire Department personnel Monday at the site of the new Albany Fire Department Station in north Albany for a ribbon cutting ceremony that marks the official opening of the new facility.

Prior to the ceremony, those on hand listened to a few brief comments by Albany Mayor Nicky Smith and Albany Fire Chief Robert Roeper, among others who spoke briefly before the ceremony.

Above, the ribbon is cut to officially open the facility, and below, several others attending the event are shown making photos as the ribbon was sliced.

An Open House is being planned for next month to give the general public the chance to tour the new facility.
