Emma Herlin Peddicord

Emma Herlin Peddicord, 80, wife of the late Parker W. Peddicord died peacefully Sunday evening following a short illness.

Born in Falmouth, Kentucky, Emma was the eldest daughter of James “Shorty” and Nellie Taylor.

Emma graduated from the Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in Lexington in 1952. Following graduation Emma worked 27 years with the pediatrician Dr. Carl Scott in Lexington. Emma loved her profession as a registered nurse and will always be remembered by countless parents and children for the passionate care she provided.

Emma was a member of the Gardenside Baptist Church. She is survived by her two sons, Stephen Parker (wife Dr. Carol) of Albany and Ronald Edward (wife Merri Jill) of Southlake, Texas; four grandsons, Thomas Parker, Michael Stephen, Zachary Adam and Lucas Taylor Peddicord.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 6 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Rd. in Lexington. Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 5. Burial services will be at the Bracken County Memorial Cemetery in Brooksville, Ky. immediately following the funeral service.

The family would like to sincerely thank the nursing staff (3rd B floor) and 2 ICU (South) at St. Joseph Hospital for the extraordinary loving care provided to Emma.
