Warinner Sawyer

Joanne Katherine Warinner Sawyer, 81, passed away Friday, April 29, 2011 at her residence in Lexington, Kentucky. She grew up in Albany, the wife of the late David Hartwell Sawyer II, also of Albany. They were married for 62 years. She was the daughter of the late Senator Ed P. Warinner and Josephine Warinner of Albany.

She is survived by two sons, David Hartwell Sawyer, III, Portland, OR; Stephen Shelby Warinner (Cindy) Sawyer, Versailles, KY; five grandchildren, Andon, Fonta, Hart, Van and Arbella Sawyer; two brothers, E. Paul Warinner, Jr. (Gale), Strasburg, OH; Iverson L. Warinner, Louisville, KY; a sister, Harriett Warinner Hile (Steve), Taylorsville, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Crestwood Christian Church with burial in Lexington Cemetery. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home of Lexington was in charge of arrangements.
