The schematic design has been approved for the middle school addition, as the project continues to move along. The Wayne County Board of Education approved the drawings that were presented to them by architect Mike Sparkman during a meeting held on Monday, October 13.
The two-story addition will add eight classrooms to the school. Sparkman noted that a tentative time schedule has the project advertised for bidding in mid-January with construction to be completed by mid-October.
Also during the meeting, the board approved the BG2 and BG3 for the project. They also approved a contract with Arnold Consulting Engineering Services for a geotechnical investigation of the construction site.
