Eat big – then toss up the rock

I plan on grabbing an extra helping of turkey and dressing and hopefully a big slab of peanut butter pie a time or two this coming weekend as we celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friends, because after this weekend for the next few months – I’ll eat far more popcorn than real food.

Let the games begin!

Finally, the long wait for the new high school basketball season is over and for the next three and a half months, we can spend some time in the gym and on the road chasing our Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs.

This 2014-15 season gets underway officially next Tuesday night, December 2, when Clinton County plays host to the Lady Rebels and Rebels of Casey County. The season starts in the Lindle Castle Gymnasium with a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.

As has been the case for the past three decades or so, the start of a roundball season also marks the release date for our Big Blue Preview – the Basketball Edition – and this week we are putting out what we think is one of our best ever.

Giving credit where credit is due, the Big Blue Preview is the result of a lot of hard work by our staff – in the editorial and photography end by Brett Gibson, and in the advertising sales and composition of Stacy Shelley and Amanda Sharpe.

Sit back this weekend while you’ve got some extra time and enjoy the Big Blue Preview, get to know the players, coaches, cheerleaders and support staff who are featured and take a close look at the schedule that will keep fans busy during the cold winter months.

Take notice when I tell you now – in both cases – this is going to be a fun, action packed year, so get on board early.

Strap yourself in, it’s time to throw up the rock!
