The Burkesville City Council held a special call meeting December 9.

The purpose of the meeting was the first reading of the Occupational License Tax Ordinance 2014-15, which will raise the occupational tax from one percent to two percent. Mayor Keith Riddle read the ordinance and City Attorney Angie Capps verified that everything was in order.

The meeting was then adjourned.

The council held another meeting December 18 (too late for press deadline.)
