One killed, one injured in two-vehicle accident

A two-vehicle accident just outside of the Albany City limits last week has resulted in the death of one Albany man .

According to the Kentucky State Police Post 15 in Columbia, Jackie Lynch, 35, of Albany, was killed when the 1993 Plymouth four-door vehicle he was operating wrecked on Ky. 350 last Monday, December 29, 2014.

At the time of the accident, Lynch was traveling east on Ky. 350, also known as the Old Monticello Road, when he lost control of the vehicle in a curve and traveled into the path of a westbound 2005 Dodge pickup truck being operated by Beau Ochsner, 30, of Pall Mall, Tennessee.

A passenger in the vehicle with Lynch, William Moore III, also of Albany, was transported and treated at the Clinton County Hospital.

Lynch, who was also transported to the Clinton County Hospital, was pronounced dead by the Clinton County Coroner, according to the Kentucky State Police.

Neither Lynch nor Moore were using seat belts at the time of the accident and Ochsner was belted and not injured, according to the Kentucky State Police.

The accident remains under investigation.
