Steve Morgan, chairman of the Clinton County Community Foundation, was on hand Monday afternoon to present Clinton County Healthy Hometown Coalition Chairman Paula Little, left, and Coalition Director April Speck, with a donation in the amount of $2,500.

The donation will go toward the Coalition’s playground area renovation project that is planned for the Mountain View Recreation Park. In addition to this donation, the Foundation was also responsible for causing an additional $5,000 grant to be directed to the same project earlier last year.

Several fundraising efforts, along with a host of donations from local and area agencies, have been made toward the playground renovation project, and work on that project is expected to be visible later this spring.

The Healthy Hometown Coalition, whose goal is to focus on improving the health opportunities of local residents and especially that of our school-aged population, was recently approved for it’s Phase II funding from the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky resulting in a grant of over $400,000 over a three year program.

Morgan made the donation Monday during a meeting of the Clinton County Healthy Hometown Coalition, which is made up of several Clinton County community members from the school, health and business sectors.
