On Tuesday, April 26, around 8:45 a.m., the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department received a tip of a possible meth lab located in a rental apartment above the Burkesville Pool Room.
The Sheriff’s Department, along with Burkesville City Police, responded to the scene and located a meth lab. Deputy Kenneth Johnson arrested Ryan Weber, 23, Byron Weber, 49, and Dustin Riddle, 35, all of Burkesville. Ryan Weber was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence. Both Byron Weber and Dustin Riddle were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine.
Those assisting Johnson were Sheriff Stevie Wheat, Emergency Management Director Grey Cary, Officers Lawrence Nettles and Wesley Long and the Burkesville Fire Department.
Also on Friday, April 22, around 5 a.m., the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department received a tip of a possible meth lab on Bakerton Ferry Road. Officers located the lab in a shed type building. No arrests were made but several are pending as the investigation continues.
Both meth labs were destroyed.
