Starting on May 31, 2011 we will begin our June Summer Reading Program. This summer our theme is “One World, Many Stories” and we will be learning about different countries all over the world! We will also have visits from Ronald McDonald and Smoky the Bear. The program will be held at 11 a.m. every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday during the month of June, and lunch will be served around 11:45 a.m. Also during June, any child who reads 25 books on their reading level will receive a free personal pan pizza from Majors Pizza.
Our July Summer Reading Program will begin on July 1, 2011, and our first drawing will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 9. Children in grades K-4 must read five books per week on their reading level, and those in grades 5-8 must read one book on their reading level. Remember, you must have your reading lists turned in by the time of the drawing to be eligible! If you turn in a reading list each week, you will be included in the grand prize drawing on July 30 at 11 a.m.! Also, there will be a movie shown on July 29 at 1 p.m.
This year our “End of Summer Reading Blowout” is going to be bigger than ever! It will be held at the library from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27 and each child will be given a bag of school supplies. We will have crafts, games, storytelling, and we will also serve breakfast and lunch.
