A.B. Pharis, 83, of the Seminary Community of Cumberland County, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011 at his home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of Green Grove Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mary Francis Pharis and his wife, Elsie Hagan Pharis.

He is survived by his children, Alvin (Faye) Pharis, Burkesville, KY; Janice (Greg) Beard, Albany; Charles C. Pharis, Burkesville, KY; grandchildren, Brian and Jonathan Pharis and Jessica and Ethan Beard; and great-grandchildren, Halen Chase and Jackson Benny Pharis.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 9, 2011 at Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Nick Catron and Bro. Gary Cash officiating. Final resting place in Pharis Family Cemetery. Arrangements made through Norris-New Funeral Home of Burkesville.
