Twin Lakes Cattleman’s

Association to meet April 28

The Twin Lakes Cattleman’s Association will meet Tuesday, April 28th at 6:00 p.m. at the South Kentucky RECC building in Albany. The guest speaker will be Neal Branscum, territory manager for Zoetis Animal Health, discussing animal health products for beef cattle. A meal will be served; please call the Extension Office at 606-387-5404, if you plan to attend so meal preparations can be made.

Park board regular meeting

The Recreation Park Board will hold its regular meeting Thursday, April 30 at 6 p.m. at Mountain View Park. The meeting is open to the general public.

Boys and Girls Ranch Camp

It’s camp time at the Kentucky Sheriffs Boys and Girls Ranch. Come spend a week at summer camp where all of the activities are fun and exciting! There will be archery, swimming, fishing, arts and crafts, horse back riding, sports, camp fires and more! The Clinton County Sheriff’s Department will be sending three boys on June 14-19 and three girls on June 21-26, ages 8-11 only. If interested, stop by the sheriff’s office for an application and more information.

Soil Conservation meeting

The Clinton County Soil Conservation District will hold its monthly meeting Friday, April 24 at 8:30 a.m. in the conference room of the FSA/NRCS office. The meeting is open to the public.

Animal Shelter announces hours

Tri-County Animal Shelter will now be open every second Saturday of the month, beginning May 9, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Dogs and cats will be given away free to anyone wishing to give them a forever home.

The shelter is located next to Equity Group on Hwy. 90. Phone 606-387-0943 for more information. Please come by and get a friend for life.

Relay For Life

‘A Carnival of Hope’

Clinton County Relay For Life will present “A Carnival of Hope” on Saturday, April 25 from 3 to 10:30 p.m. at Clinton County High School. There will be lots of fun and games. Survivors will have a table to register and receive special recognition. The survivor lap will begin around 6 p.m.

Golf scramble in Jamestown

Lake Cumberland Golf Club in Jamestown is hosting a golf scramble at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 2. Cost is $300 per 4-person team. Cash prizes. For more information call 270-343-4563.

Early Head Start

Lake Cumberland Early Head Start program is now accepting applications for children ages birth to three, and expecting moms in the Clinton County area for the 2015-16 school year. Early Head Start is a development program that provides comprehensive services to income eligible parents and families with special needs. Qualified staff operates a center-based facility that is developmentally appropriate for children birth to three years old. The center provides an environment with numerous learning opportunities and learning experiences that meet the needs of young children.
