The Albany Independent League hosted its annual Opening Day festivities with somewhat of a different schedule than past years. This year, to accommodate the Run for the Roses 5K, the AIL scheduled it’s opening day ceremony for 11:30 a.m. with the traditional parade through town to kick off the event, shown above.

Former C.C.H.S softball head coach Darrell Thompson, left, and former C.C.H.S. baseball head coach Mike Conner, right, threw out the first pitches for softball and baseball to Abby Young and Carter Gibson respectively.

Below, several players came forward to lead the crowd in the National Anthem just before starting a full day of games.
