Kentucky Derby comes early in Clinton County

The Kentucky Derby was held in all of its glory Friday, May 6, as students at the Early Childhood Center ran for the roses. Students decorated their horses and raced for the gold medal to celebrate the real Kentucky Derby held the next day at Churchhill Downs. Above, students from Mrs. Tammy Cook’s class jetted across the lawn for the first race of the day.

In the photo below, from left to right are the winners from each kindergarten class. From Mrs. Tammy Cook’s class was Christian Marcum, Mrs. Jackie Frey’s winner was Asa Flowers, Mrs. Tracy Goodman’s class winner was Riley Miller, Mrs. Tiffany Norris’ winner was Luke Cash, Hunter Bertram won the race in Mrs. Patricia Riddle’s class and Jamison Vitatoe won the final race of the day for Mrs. Lisa Smith’s class.
