SODA meetings

The support group, SODA (Survivors of Domestic Violence), meets every Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Clinton County Health Department. For more information call 1-800-755-2017.

VA officer available

Veterans Service Officer Earl Claborn is available to help veterans and their families with VA benefits. The office is located in the Clinton County Community Center. Office hours are Monday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information call 606-387-9447.

Narcotics Anonymous

Narcotics Anonymous group meets each Monday and Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Albany. These meetings are open to anyone wanting to address their drug and alcohol problems.

AA / Al-Anon meetings

AA and Al-Anon will be meeting each Thursday and Saturday night at 7 p.m. in the basement of the First Christian Church.

Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery, for those people suffering with depression, addictions to drug or alcohol use, etc., will meet on Tuesdays at

VA Officer available

Gary Jones, Veterans Benefit Field Representative for Clinton and surrounding counties, will be in Glasgow at 216 E. Public Square, Lower Level, every day except for the first Tuesday, second Monday, second Thursday and third Monday each month. This will allow Jones to help veterans and their families more effectively from this central location. Veterans can schedule an appointment by call 270-651-9578 or toll free, 1-800-850-1392.

SSA Office no longer

visiting Clinton County

The Social Security Administration will no longer be visiting the Clinton County Senior Citizens’s Building on the first and third Tuesday of each month. However, the local office will be able to better serve you. The office is located at 3975 S Highway 27, Somerset, Kentucky. We are open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Bicycle Derby rescheduled

The VFW Post #1096 bicycle derby, which was cancelled last week due to rain, has been rescheduled for this Saturday, May 21, weather permitting, at the VFW Post/ball field on Hopkins Street. Bike safety inspections will be from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with the races starting at 1 p.m. Entry forms will be handed out during inspections. Businesses or individuals wishing to donate $25 toward trophies should contact Ron Myers at 387-7916.

Gold Refinery at hospital

The Gold Refinery will be at Clinton County Hospital’s dining room Thursday, May 19 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. to purchase any unwanted gold or silver. Commission goes to the Clinton County Hospital Auxiliary.

A Day in the Garden

Lake Cumberland Master Gardeners Association will sponsor “A Day in the Garden” on Saturday, June 4 on the grounds of the Pulaski County Extension Office in Somerset. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. Tickets of $15 can be purchased at the Pulaski County Extension Office, 28 Parkway Drive or by calling 606-679-6361 and includes the cost of two workshops and a box lunch. Pine straw mulch will be available for $6 per bale. Pre-registration is required and limited to the first 75 participants. Little Mr. and Miss

Barren River

The Little Mister and Miss Barren River pageant will be held Saturday, June 4 at the Barren County High School auditorium in Glasgow, starting at 10 a.m. Age divisions will range from 0 to 18 years for girls and 0 to age 5 in boys.
