A ribbon cutting and recognition ceremony was held Saturday, May 31, at the Mountain View Recreation Park to introduce the community to newly installed playground equipment.
The project has been a long ongoing event that was successful due to the cooperation of several groups and individuals who came together in the effort to make this project happen for the youth of Clinton County.
The newly installed equipment was realized through the coordination efforts of the Clinton County Healthy Hometown Coalition which spearheaded the project and worked with the other sponsors as well as holding a host of fundraising efforts to help supplement the more than $75,000 total scope of the project.
In the photo at left, Healthy Hometown Coordinator April Speck opened the program by welcoming those in attendance. Above, in addition to the main cluster of playground equipment originally installed in relation to the project, a secondary purchase using surplus funds also provided a new merry-go-round unit that was just recently added to the playground area. Many of the youth in attendance Saturday enjoyed taking the added feature on it’s inaugural spin.
