SaraBeth Shrader, of Versailles, Kentucky, member of the Bluegrass Soccer Club 1999 Girls’ team, recently played and won in the girls’ U17 age-group at the 2015 Norhalne Cup, a 96-year-old tournament in Aalborg, Denmark, that featured 450 soccer teams from across Europe.

This is the first time a squad representing the USA has claimed the championship title since the tournament began.

The Bluegrass team played seven games in the tournament from May 14-16 and finished with a 5-0-2 record to win the A Division. The team competed against squads from Denmark and Germany.

SaraBeth is the daughter of Casey and Kimberly Dicken Shrader, granddaugter of Harvey and Ada Dicken, and great-granddaugher of the late Ken and Zenoba Dicken, and Dean and the late Blene Asberry.
