CCMS Title I and Fine Arts Night

The Clinton County Middle School will be hosting a Title I and Fine Arts Night on Thursday, August 27 from 4-6 p.m. The VSA Traveling Art Exhibit and student work from the art classes will be on display.

CCPL Book Club to meet

The CCPL (Clinton County Public Library) Book Club will meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 5:15 p.m., with the first meeting being September 1, 2015.

Fall decoration sale at hospital

A Fall decoration sale, sponsored by the Hospital Auxiliary, will be held Thursday, September 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the hospital dining room.

Soil Conservation meeting

The Clinton County Soil Conservation District will hold its monthly meeting Friday, August 28 at 8:30 a.m. in the conference room of the FSA/NRCS office. The meeting is open to the public.

City council regular meeting

Albany City Council will hold its regular monthly meeting Tuesday, September 1 at 5 p.m. at city hall. The meeting is open to the public.

CCHS Class of ‘60 plans

reunion

The Clinton County High School Class of 1960 have some special plans for the 55th class reunion Labor Day Weekend! The night gathering will be Friday, September 4 at 7 p.m. at the home of Jacquita Cravens on Ray Ridge Road, Albany, past Coach Castle’s house–look for signs. Our regular class reunion will be Saturday, September 5 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the South Kentucky RECC Building in Albany. Local girls are encouraged to bring finger foods. No invitations will be sent so we encourage family members and friends to remind class members of these fun events! CCMS Site Based schedule

Clinton County Middle School’s SBDM Council will meet in the conference room on the first Monday of each month at 4:30 p.m. with the exceptions of September and April due to Labor Day and spring break. The schedule of the monthly meetings is as follows: September 1; October 5; November 2; December 7; January 4; February 1; March 7; April 11; May 2; June 6.

Class of 1975 reunion

The CCHS Class of 1975 will have it’s 40 year reunion on Saturday, September 5, at the Clinton County Fairgrounds, starting at 6 p.m.

This gathering is intended to be for all those who started out with the class in 1963, but did not finish and those who perhaps only were with us for a short, but memorable time.

ASAP Appreciation Luncheon

Cordell Hull

Festival Pageant

The Cordell Hull Festival Pa gent has been scheduled for Saturday, September 19 at the Pickett County K-8 School Gym in Byrdstown, Tennessee. Registration will begin at 2 p.m. for the age groups of infant through eight years of age, with the pageant beginning at 3 p.m. Registration will begin at 5 p.m. for the age groups of nine years through 21 years, with that portion of the pageant beginning at 6 p.m.

The categories for competition as follows: Miss Infant–Birth to 12 months; Wee Miss–13-24 months; Tiny Miss-25-42 months; Little Princess–43-59 months; Junior Princess–five to six years; Senior Princess–seven to eight years; Little Miss – nine to 12 years; Junior Miss –13-15 years; Miss Cordell Hull–16-21 years.

Contestants must compete in their respective age category at the time of the pageant. Dress competition will be formal. A Miss Photogenic Contest will be held for each category with the contestant supplying the photograph. The photograph may be color or black and white. The photograph’s size must not exceed 8×10. Only one photograph per contestant will be allowed.
