The Annual Gala Fundraising Dinner on the grounds of the home of Kay Elder at 140 Deer Point promises to be a very special event. This year’s theme is “Renaissance Masquerade”, an evening banquet with entertainment in the elegance of Renaissance European style. The Gala is on Saturday evening, September 26, beginning at 6:00 P.M. with hors d’oeuvres, followed by a seated meal catered by Grade A Catering.
A true delight will be Celtic and classical melodies performed on the harp by Cindy Story, while guest enjoy the hors d’oeuvres and silent auction during the first hour of the evening.
Always a popular event, the fundraiser will be the 12th such Gala with something special for each guest. Masquerade style masks are being furnished for all attendees. Guests are not expected to come in costume, but guest smay want to dress for a festive evening —dinner attire, evening attire, Sunday best, whatever you feel dressed up in— or maybe not so dressed up. (It’s a masquerade so who will know who is wearing what.)
There will be plenty of time to mingle with other masked guests as you sample the appetizers and bid at the Silent Auction table, a new addition to the event for 2015.
Some great items are being donated for bidding and all proceeds of the auction will support Good Neighbors Theatre’s continuing efforts to provide quality entertainment, including the 2105-2016 Peoples Bank and Trust Season opener, Play On! in November. Handcrafted items include a quilt, necklace, pottery and “Stacs”. Come find even more great articles to bid for!
Masked guests will dine al fresco listening to special entertainment with a variety of talent much as guests would have done at a masquerade banquet in Renaissance Europe. A theater group could hardly have an event without a play and this year a very short medieval style skit will be part of the evening.
A written invitation is not required to attend. Anyone interested in supporting and becoming involved with Good Neighbors Theatre is urged to attend. Everyone is welcome—couples, groups of friends, singles.
Those interested in attending the twilight masquerade can contact GNT at 931-864-8315 to make a reservation. Reservations are required by September 24. If you leave a message, be sure to include your name and the total number of guests attending. Provide your phone number in case you need to be contacted.
All of the productions and events provided by Good Neighbors Theatre are made possible by the generous contributions received from our supporters. Donations supporting the non-profit organization will be graciously appreciated during the evening of an Old World style banquet and entertainment that awaits you. Those not able to attend, but wishing to contribute may send their contribution to Good Neighbors Theatre at P. O. Box 493, Byrdstown, TN 38549.
