County accepts FLEX funds for road repairs

Clinton County Fiscal Court held a brief call meeting Thursday morning, September 24 in the judge/executive’s office with all members present and one item of business on the agenda.

The court, on a motion by Magistrate Hershell Key, voted unanimously to approve a resolution with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet accepting $187,379 in FLEX funds that will be used to make repairs to parts of some 11 roads in the county.

Judge/Executive Richard Armstrong said all but one of the roads that had been submitted to the state for repairs had been approved.

The FLEX funds will be used to make repairs to the following roads in the county. All roads include resurfacing.

* Oscar Lane from McWhorter Road extending south to dead end, length of 0.278 mile;

* Roy Grider Road from U.S. 127 extending west to U.S. 127, length of 0.607 mile;

* Old Savage Hill Road from Ky. 696 extending east to dead end, length of 0.529 mile;

* Old Cumberland City-Osco Spur Road extending to dead end, length of 0.339 mile;

* Chestnut Flat Road from Ky. 558 extending south to dead end, length of 0.552 mile;

* Jones Mill Road from 0.278 northeast of Ky. 558 extending to Wayne County line, length 0.680 mile;

* Albany Landing Road from 0.319 mile southeast of Cumberland County line road extending northwest to Cumberland County line, length 0.320 mile;

* Mount Vernon Road from Hogback Road extending south to dead end, length 0.080 mile;

* Ronnie Brown Road from Groce Subdivision Road extending to end of county maintenance, length 0.110 mile;

* Bradley Road from Olympus Drive extending southwest to dead end-patching, length 0.280 mile;

* Parrigin No. 2 Road from Ky. 553 extending south to end of county maintenance, length 0.200 mile.

The next regular meeting of Clinton County Fiscal Court is scheduled for Thursday, October 15 at 5 p.m. in the upstairs courtroom of the courthouse and is open to the general public.
