The Clinton County Bulldogs traveled to Metcalfe County Friday night and picked up its third loss of the season, 48-0.

Other than losing the game, Clinton County also lost starting quarterback Eli Brown, who suffered a broken collar bone during the game.

“We were down 32-0 before Eli went out,” Miller said. “We couldn’t block them, we couldn’t tackle them, we couldn’t recover pass routes … I just don’t know what happened.”

Miller said he didn’t think his team was intimidated going into the game. Clinton County has never beaten Metcalfe County, however, Metcalfe County had a 0-5 record going into Friday night’s game.

“It’s a hard situation,” Miller said. “We fell behind early and didn’t fight back. By losing Eli (Brown) it went even farther down hill with the moral of the team. We are going to go back to the drawing board and put some new personnel into the mix. We have to really stress offensive line importance this week.”

Clinton County will be back at home this week to host Lynn Camp. Lynn Camp will come into Friday night’s game with a 4-2 record on the year.

“Lynn Camp has been on a roller coaster the last couple of weeks. They played several teams we’ve played and had very similar outcomes,” Miller said. “We have some film on them and we are going to break it down and get our guys as prepared as possible. If we show up ready to play Friday, we will get us a win.”

Miller said he feels his team is “lost” and he needs to find what is going on.

“We are going to go back to the drawing board and get back to basics,” Miller said. “I don’t know if they get complacent after three wins and think that’s all they are supposed to get. Well, I get tired of that. Three wins is not a successful season … better than none, but, I’m looking for winning seasons with seven or eight wins and seven wins is still our goal.”

Clinton County’s game Friday will kickoff at 7 p.m. with homecoming festivities starting prior to the game.
