The Clinton County Football team added another “W” to its season with a win over Lynn Camp Friday night at Bulldog Field.

Lynn Camp took it to the Bulldogs early in the game, scoring a touchdown on the opening kickoff for a quick 6-0 score.

The Bulldogs fought back and finished the game with the two point victory, 28-26, and to move to 4-3 on the year.

Head Coach Jamie Miller was pleased with his team’s preformance.

“I though oh my goodness. They have just scored on the opening kick, but we buckled down and saw what they were doing and luckily was able to hold them off for the win,” Miller said. “They made some positive plays offensively, but we were able to hold on to the W.”

With the injured Senior Eli Brown, Noah Pruitt has been taking the snaps for the Dawgs during the past couple of games. Miller said he is going well in that position, but still has a lot to learn.

“He is doing good. He is still learning and he is a competitor,” Miller said. “I didn’t doubt their effort. I think this past week our effort level was there for 48 minutes.”

This Friday night will be homecoming for Clinton County, an event which was rescheduled from this past week due to the rain.

Clinton County will host Red Boling Springs and Miller is confident if his team plays like they did against Lynn Camp, they will come off with another win.

“Red Boiling Springs is a pretty solid team. Their record doesn’t bode well for them,” Miller said. “Last year, over there, they put it on us pretty good, but last year I wouldn’t have thought we would have just quit playing.”

Miller said his team’s moral is up and they are playing with the type of effort he wants to see in a team.

“I could very well see us at 6-1 on the year right now,” Miller said.

Clinton County’s kickoff Friday night will begin at 7 p.m. with Homecoming festivities beginning around 6:30 p.m.
