The Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) students enrolled in the Medicaid Nurse Aide and Pharmacy Technician Programs at the Clinton County Area Technology Center along with their instructors Billie Frye, RN and Cindy Albertson, RN assisted with the annual Healthy Second Sunday (2S) event held at the Mountain View Park on October 11th.

The 2S event allowed the students to gain experience in measuring blood pressures, pulses, and respirations. The students also operated the first aid station and distributed bottled water to the event participants. This opportunity allowed the students to gain real-world experience related to health care.

The students and instructors would like to thank the community for coming to the event and the coordinators for allowing the students to participate in the annual health fair.

Those students who participated include: Cindy Albertson, RN, Haley Huckelby, Mildred Dominguez, Erika Rodriguez, Haley Stockton, Billie Frye, RN, Jessie Albertson, Aspen Pickens, Victoria Turner, and Takota Dalton.

At left, HOSA student Aspen Pickens is shown talking to 2S participant Dottie Ballou after measuring her blood pressure prior to Ballou beginning her walk around the Mountain View Park walking track.
