Halloween will unofficially end at midnight Saturday, October 31 and two hours later, another change will take place as the region will switch back to Central Daylight Time (CDT) for approximately four and-a-half months.

Readers are reminded that Daylight Saving Time (DST) officially ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, November 1, marking the day people catch up on the hour’s sleep they lost this past March, and also meaning a “shorter” period of daylight.

Holding to the familiar rule of “spring forward – fall backward”, readers should set their clocks, watches, or other time pieces “back” one hour before retiring Saturday night or first thing Sunday morning.

Central Daylight Saving Time will return at 2 a.m. on the second Sunday (13th) of March 2016.
