Plenty of parts for next play at Good Neighbors Theatre

Good Neighbors Theatre will hold auditions for its spring production of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream on Monday, December 14th and Tuesday, December 15th at 6:00 pm at the theatre. GNT is located at, 8780 Highway 111 in Byrdstown.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream tells the story of love, jealousy, magic, and imagination—in both the real and imagined worlds.

From love potions and magical transformations to marriages and a play-within-a-play—it’s a non-stop delightful exploration of appearance vs. reality.

The production is set to open in early March with rehearsals beginning in early January.

There will be parts available for all ages: three male parts—mature (Theseus, Egeus, Philostrate), two male parts—teen/young adult (Lysander and Demetrius), two female parts—teen/young adult (Hermia and Helena), two female parts—adult (Titania and Hippolyta), one male—adult (Oberon), one male or female—teen/young adult (Puck), six male or female—teen/adult (Rude Mechanicals), seven male or female (speaking)—children (fairies), and multiple male or female (non-speaking)—children (fairies).

Anyone with an interest in helping with what goes on “behind the curtain” should also attend an audition.

People are always needed to help with props, set construction, sound and lights, backstage management of the young ones, and costume construction.
