Clinton County Area Technology Center HOSA members and KODA (Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates) are trying to raise awareness regarding the importance of organ donation and are trying to get 100 new people to register to become a potential organ donor in Clinton County. The reward that comes with being an organ donor is the satisfaction of saving lives. How? Potentially seven lives are saved for every one person who is an organ donor. The organs that are able to be donated include: heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, and pancreas.

You have the power to donate life. Approximately 125,000 people are waiting for a life-saving organ. Sadly, an average of 22 will die each day because they did not receive their life-saving organ in time. Last year, more than 8,000 deceased donors made possible more than 22,000 organ transplants. In addition, there were nearly 6,000 transplants from living donors. We can make a difference and make it possible for more lives to be saved. If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about organ donation or to become a registered organ donor, please contact Mrs. Billie Frye, RN, Mrs. Cindy Albertson, or any HOSA member at the Clinton County Area Technology Center for details.
