Two special call meetings were held last Thursday morning, including a Clinton County Fiscal Court meeting at 8 a.m. in the judge/executive’s office and an Industrial Authority meeting at 11 a.m. at the IDA-Welcome Center.

The Clinton County Industrial Authority (IDA) approved its first loan in quite sometime, following a review of an application that had been submitted by Barry Cross.

The board met in closed session to discuss the loan prospect for about an hour and upon returning to open session voted unanimously to approve a loan in the amount of $97,000 to Cross, doing business as Cross Logging Company.

That was the only item of business on the call meeting agenda and following the vote to approve the loan, the meeting was adjourned.

The Clinton Fiscal Court session was brief, with three fund transfers being approved.

The court approved transfers, all from the Occupational Tax Fund, to the general fund in the amount of $42,000; to the Jail Fund in the amount of $28,000 and to the Ambulance Fund totaling $60,000.

The fund transfers were also the only item of business on the court’s agenda and after the approval of the transfers, the meeting was adjourned.

The next regular meeting of Clinton Fiscal Court is scheduled for Thursday, December 17 at 5 p.m. at the courthouse and is open to the general public.
