City of Albany employee David Harris stopped by the Clinton County News office Monday afternoon to pick up a load of new toys that had been left for the Albany and Clinton County Christmas At Home Toy Drive. Many of the toys that had been dropped off at the NEWS office were left by members of the Dale Hollow Lake Yacht Club, whose members annually organize their own drive and funraising efforts as a way of giving back to the community that so many of them call their “second home” when they enjoy time on their houseboats on Dale Hollow Lake. An additional photo of the Dale Hollow Lake toy donation being dropped off appears this week on page 2.

Several other individuals had also left toys at the Clinton County News drop-off site as well. Local residents are reminded that the final day to make canned food donations to the drive, which can be dropped off at Albany City Hall or several area churches, is Thursday, December 10. Toy donations will be accepted until Tuesday, December 15. Deliveries of food and toys will be made during a multi-day event that will begin on Friday, December 18.

In addition to Albany City Hall and the Clinton County News, donations of new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at Dollar General Market, Dollar Giant, Family Dollar, City Florist, Save-A-Lot and Fred’s.
