It didn’t take long for a hard hitting Monroe County Lady Falcon squad to flex its’ muscles in Tompkinsville last Tuesday night and put away a lop-sided victory over the Clinton County Lady Bulldogs by some 40 points, 77-37.

Monroe County jumped out to an early lead and basically never relinquished control of the game.

Two quick fouls charged to Clinton County’s power forward Kayla Dicken left an already short handed Lady Bulldogs’ squad scrambling for an answer to the Lady Falcons’ fast moving and hard hitting style of play.

Coach Darrell Thompson went deep into his bench early and often as the first half played out, with the Lady Bulldogs finding themselves facing a double-digit deficit mid-way through the first quarter, 16-6, and ending the opening period trailing 28-11.

The Lady Dawgs continued to fall behind in the second quarter of action, with Monroe County dominating the action on both ends of the court to build a 57-19 halftime lead.

The second half was basically more of the same, with the Lady Bulldogs unable to ever find anything in its’ bag that would counter or even hold off the Lady Falcons, who led 72-29 at the end of the third quarter before going on to take the victory, 77-37.
