This year’s Christmas Village, put on by the Homemakers Council, in conjunction with the Clinton County Extension Office, saw more than 70 shoppers this season and went off without a hitch according to Christy Nuetzman, Family and Consumer Sciences Coordinator.
“The pace of this year’s event went very well and resulted in a much smoother event,” Nuetzman said. “Additional Homemakers and community volunteers decreased the waiting time for shopping which is always our most congested activity. Crafts and gift wrapping stations were more organized under the leadership of returning teen volunteers and Santa and Mrs. Jingle were popular as always.”
With the continued support and participation of the event, Homemakers are always looking at improving the event and are always looking to continue to grow every year.
Members of the Homemakers Council will discuss Christmas Village and determine what is in store for next year.
“It is certainly an important community outreach event,” Nuetzman said. “The excitement of the children while picking out those perfect gifts is priceless.”

What is always a crowd favorite among the children, Mrs. Jingle played games and sang songs with all the kids who came through the Christmas Village Thursday night.
