The Clinton County Bulldogs moved to the opposite side of the gymnasium Wednesday afternoon from their bench, to place the championship trophy of the Twin Lakes Holiday Classic adjacent to the “Sid’s Court” decal on the floor near the WANY broadcast booth. The team dedicated the tournament championship win to long-time game play by play broadcaster Sid Scott, who passed away the previous week.

Clinton County finished the five team tournament with a 4-1 overall record, picking up wins against Grant County (67-55), Christian Academy-Louisville (52-45) and Anderson County (62-44) with a single loss to Metcalfe County (63-56). Detailed game accounts from last week’s action can be found this week in Sports. The victory ended a three-year drought for capturing the championship of their own tournament, with the Bulldogs having last won the Twin Lakes Classic in 2011.

The Bulldogs traveled to Powell County this week to compete in the Red River Classic. The Lady Bulldogs returned home last week after playing in the Lady Storm United Mine Workers of America Classic at Hopkins County Central, where they finished that event with an 0-4 overall record. This week, the Lady Bulldogs hosted the Best of the Lakes Holiday Classic at the Lindle Castle Gymnasium. Details of this week’s games for both Clinton County teams will be included in next week’s Clinton County News.
