The Clinton County Bulldogs moved to 10-5 on the year after winning all three games in the Red River Classic in Powell County last week.
As reported in last week’s edition, Clinton County defeated Estill County, 58-43 on Monday, December 28, 2015.
The Dawgs also played on Tuesday and Wednesday against Jackson City and Lee County respectively.
On Tuesday, Clinton County won 75-50, and on Wednesday 79-34.
Tuesday’s game against Jackson City also saw a Bulldog player make the record books. Junior Brett Gibson set a new record for most three pointers in a game by hitting 10 total. He finished with 34 points. Jason Gibson held the previous record with nine three pointers during a game against Metcalfe County on December 3, 2002.

The Bulldogs went up against Lee County during the Red River Classic Wednesday, December 30, 2015.
During the first quarter, the Dawgs led by only four points, 7-3. It wasn’t until the second quarter where Clinton County found its groove and posted 31 points during the eight minutes of play to lead at the half, 38-15.
During the third quarter, Clinton County posted 16 points compared to Lee County’s 10 to lead 54-32.
In the final quarter, the Dawgs put up 25 points to seal the deal and win it’s fourth game in a row, 79-34, and move to 10-5 on the year.

On Tuesday, Clinton County took on Jackson City in the second game of the Red River Classic.
The Dawgs opened up with a 29-13 lead in the first quarter due mainly to Gibson’s hot hand.
Gibson hit five three pointers in the first quarter alone and his sharp shooting continued throughout the game.
During the second quarter, Clinton County outscored Jackson City, 10-5. Gibson hit two more three pointers during the period to bring his first half total to seven for the game.
During the third quarter, Clinton County put up 17 points to Jackson City’s 14. Gibson hit two more threes to tie the record at nine as the Dawgs led the game 56-32.
During the final quarter the Dawgs continued to remain in control of the game, posting 19 points to Jackson City’s 15. Gibson broke the school’s three point record for a single game in the final quarter by hitting one three pointer for a total of 10 for the game. Clinton County won the game, 75-50.

Clinton County will be back to a somewhat normal schedule this week as the team traveled to Pickett County, Tennessee on Tuesday. The Dawgs will also be at home on Friday as Clinton County hosts Metcalfe County.
