Vennie May (Griffin) Murray, 95, Albany, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Clinton County Hospital. She was the daughter of the late William Lee and Myrtle (Means) Griffin, wife of the late Charlie Murray and was also preceded in death by four brothers, John, Willie, and Wendell Griffin and Dewey Willen; two sisters, Jessie Griffin and Jenny Cross; a grandson, Ricky Murray and a great-grandson, Ricky Murray, Jr.

She is survived by a son, Otis (Evelyn) Murray, Albany; a daughter, Janis Abbott, Jamestown, KY; three sisters, Bessie Tapley, New Castle, IN; Ruby Curtiss, Richmond, IN; Coleen Cross, Muldraugh, KY; four grandchildren, Brenda Vincent, Gary Webb, Judy Hachey and Don McClure; six great-grandchildren, Danielle and Brook Hachey, Alison Spencer, Jade McClure, Jarod Webb and Travis Vincent and two great-great-grandchildren, Tanner and Ashley Webb.

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Campbell-New Funeral Home with Pastor Donald McGill officiating. Final resting place in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Eastern Star service was performed on Saturday by local chapter 429. Memorial contributions are suggested to Caney Branch Baptist Church Building Fund.
