Clinton Grand Jury hands down host of individual, multi-count indictments during January session

The new Clinton County Grand Jury, convening for its first session on January 7, 2016, held an extremely busy session, returning some 48 total felony and misdemeanor indictments, charging 16 separate individuals, mostly on multiple counts.

The following true bills were hand down in open Circuit Court last month.

* Shayne Capps, the alleged offenses of terroristic threatening third degree (Class A misdemeanor); assault second degree (Class C felony); and wanton endangerment first degree, (Class D felony), with the alleged offenses having occurred on or about November 1.

* Contessa M. Gore, the alleged offenses of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (misdemeanor); fleeing or evading police first degree (Class D felony); driving on a suspended license (Class B misdemeanor); reckless driving (misdemeanor); failure to signal (misdemeanor); resisting arrest (Class A misdemeanor); possession of a controlled substance not in original container (Class B misdemeanor); possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor) and receiving stolen property (Class D felony). The alleged offenses having occurred on or about November 17.

* Justin Stapp, the alleged offenses of manufacturing methamphetamine (Class F felony); unlawful possession of a meth precursor (Class D felony); possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor); escape second degree (Class D felony) and persistent felony offender second degree. The alleged offenses having occurred on or about November 25.

* Billy Craig, the alleged offenses of manufacturing methamphetamine (Class B felony); unlawful possession of a meth precursor (Class D felony); possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor). The alleged offenses having occurred on or about November 25.

* William Stuber, the alleged offenses of manufacturing methamphetamine (Class B felony); unlawful possession of a meth precursor (Class D felony); possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor); hindering prosecution or apprehension first degree (Class D felony). The alleged offenses having occurred on or about November 25.

* Jimmy Poynter, the alleged offenses of manufacturing methamphetamine (Class B felony); unlawful possession of a meth precursor (Class D felony); possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor); persistent felony offender second degree. The alleged offenses having occurred on or about November 25.

* Ashley Burton, the alleged offenses of manufacturing methamphetamine (Class B felony); unlawful possession of a meth precursor (Class D felony); possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor). The alleged offenses having occurred on or about November 25.

* Rachel Thair, the alleged offenses of assault third degree (Class D felony); public intoxication (Class B misdemeanor); disorderly conduct second degree (Class B misdemeanor). The alleged offenses having occurred on or about August 28, 2015.

* Zada A. Groce, the alleged offenses of no/expired registration plates, no registration receipt (misdemeanors); failure to maintain insurance (Class B misdemeanor); operating a motor vehicle under the influence, second or subsequent offense within five years; possession of a controlled substance first degree (Class D felony); possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor). The alleged offenses having occurred on or about September 1, 2015.

* Flint Thacker, the alleged offenses of criminal possession of a forged instrument second degree (Class D felony); persistent felony offender second degree. The alleged offenses having occurred on or about September 21, 2015.

* Dillon Alley, the alleged offense of assault second degree (Class C felony), the alleged offense having occurred on or about November 15.

* Colton W. Alley, the alleged offense of assault second degree, Class C felony, the alleged offense having occurred on or about November 15.

* Timothy Sheckles, the alleged offense of failure to comply with sex offender registry, the alleged offense having occurred on or about January 2, 2016.

* William Sheckles, the alleged offense of flagrant non-support, the alleged offense having occurred between June 21, 202 through January 7, 2016.

* Rachel Sheckles, the alleged offense of flagrant non-support, the alleged offense having occurred between June 21, 2012 and January 7, 2016.

* The alleged offense of flagrant non-support against Mark A. Beaty, the alleged offense having occurred between May, 2004 and January 7, 2015.
