Entering it’s third year since forming, the Clinton County Community Foundation, during a regular meeting of it’s advisory board, elected new officers.

With Steve Morgan stepping down after serving in the position of Chairman for two years, the advisory board placed Kathleen Booher into the role of Chairperson for the next term.

Booher had been serving as Vice-Chairperson for the past year.

Arica Conner Collins was elected to the position of Vice-Chairman for the new term and Al Gibson was selected to continue another term as Secretary/Treasurer.

Booher, Collins, Gibson and Morgan are joined on the Advisory Board by Glenn Ray Smith, David Cross, Larry Conner, Keith McWhorter and Steven Tallent.

The Clinton County Community Foundation was formed to encourage philanthropy and charitable giving by creating a vehicle to help donors give back to their communities and make a lasting impact.

Working with the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky, the local foundation raises funds to create an endowment that will be used to make grants for local projects that will benefit the community.

The Clinton County Community Foundation, for it’s inaugural project, partnered with several other local groups in the effort that saw new state of the art playground equipment purchased and installed at the Mountian View Recreation Park in what was one of the most impressive commuinty partnerships ever witnessed here.

Currently, the Foundation is in the early stages of working to see a new Farmer’s Market facility built just north of the courthouse square in the vacant lot between the Clinton County News and Clinton Farm and Home on Washington Street.

Anyone wishing to become involved with the Clinton County Community Foundation’s efforts can contact any of the aforementioned advisory board members.
