A three-vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of U.S. 127 and KY 90 near Junction Station, resulted in at least one victim being tranpsorted to the Clinton County Hospital with injuries.

The accident brought the Clinton County Emergency Medical Services, Albany Fire Department and the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department out to the scene, along with other local emergency workers and volunteers who helped with traffic control at the busy intersection.

According to the Clinton County Sheriff’s report, Christopher Larkin of Cadiz, Kentucky was driving a 2004 Jeep Cherokee north on U.S. 127, when his brakes failed as he approaced the intersection, causing him to travel into oncoming traffic.

The vehicle driven by Larkin then struck a 2007 Buick Terraza that was traveling west on KY 90, causing it to collide with a 2011 Ford F250 that was traveling south on U.S. 127.

Between the three vehicles, five additional passengers were involved in the accident as well, with one passenger in the Larkin vehicle having to be mechanially extracted from the vehicle. That passenger was transported to the Clinton County Hospital for treatment of injuries.

The Jeep and Buick were towed from the scene while the Ford truck was able to leave without assistance.
