Bobby Ray “Uncle Dick” Tallent, 76, of Albany, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016 at the Kindred Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was the son of Aaron Dorcus “Doc” and Reba (Cummings) Tallent and was a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church. A construction worker, he was also a Kentucky Colonel, served two terms as 3rd District Magistrate, and was a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Aaron Oakley , Guy, Bennie “J.D.” Tallent, and a sister Ida Maude Thrasher.

Survivors include his companion, Doris Jones; two sons, Timothy Ray (Laura) Tallent, Louisville, and Martin Bruce (Lisa) Tallent, Bullitt County, Kentucky; four brothers, Johnny (Becky), Gary (Arrisa), Wendell (Sylvia), all of Albany, and Joe (Sheryl) Tallent, of New Whiteland, Indiana; a sister, Ina Marie (Rob) Norris, New Whiteland, Indiana; a granddaughter, Kayla Tallent; and special great-nephews Parker and Lee Tallent.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 28, 2016 in the chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home with pastors Harvey Dicken and Jimmy York officiating. Burial was in Cave Springs Cemetery. Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany was in charge of arrangements. Online condolences at www.campbell-new.com.
