Fair gets underway with pageants, mule show

The weather was almost perfect for a night out at the fair Monday as spectators watched the mule pulls on the lower track, with the beauty pageants held on the main stage.

Above, the mule team of Cletus Greer, of Whitesville, KY, and Larry Burton, of Columbia, KY, won first place in the under 2000 lbs. catagory.

In the photo above, Baylee Shofner of Green County, was crowned 2011 Miss Clinton County Fair and will represent Clinton County during the state competition. She is the daughter of Adam Shofner and Amy Shofner.

Above, six contestants lined up in front of the judges during the swimsuit competition. The Miss Clinton County Fair Pageant had a total of 18 contestants to participate Monday night. Additional pageant photos appear on page 10.

 

Clinton County Fair Baby Show winners

The winners of the 2011 Clinton County Fair Baby Show, held Saturday, June 11 at the fairgrounds, are as follows:

* 0-3 month boys: Winner, Zayne Skyler Foust; 1st runner-up, Quinton Lee Smith.

* 0-3 month girls: Winner, Tessa Sky Orton; 1st runner-up, Jasmine Mariah Nichole Davis.

* 4-6 month boys: Winner, Hunter Dallas Garrett.

* 4-6 month girls: Winner, Kinsley Beth Rogers; 1st runner-up, Kaylee Brooke Little; 2nd runner-up, Haven Celeste Stearns.

* 7-11 month boys: Winner, Bentley Trey Jones; 1st runner-up, Owen Michael Staton; 2nd runner-up, Jaden Shane Slone.

* 7-11 month girls: Winner, Kayleigh Elizabeth Turner; 1st runner-up, Emilee Coomer; 2nd runner-up, Zoe Manaia Brooke Jones.

* 1-year boys: Winner, Jedidiah Micaiah Ike Davis; 1st runner-up, Bryce Cravens; 2nd runner-up, Cannon Saul Harding.

* 1-year girls: Winner, Adalyn Bren Duvall; 1st runner-up, Amelia Gail Dicken; 2nd runner-up, Lillie Darlene Rose Meadors.

* 2-year boys: Winner, Jamen Brandon Wayne Ferguson; 1st runner-up, Zander Kasen Stonecipher; 2nd runner-up, Keaton Dicken.

* 2-year girls: Winner, Sydney Leeann Lowhorn; 1st runner-up, Kaylah Shay Boston; 2nd runner-up, Nevina Janell Yevette Shelton.

* 3-year boys: Winner, Samuel Bentlee Myers; 1st runner-up, Brayden Garrison Joe Lewis; 2nd runner-up, Tristan Grider.

The miss pageant saw 18 contestants go head to head for the title of Miss Clinton County Fair. Winners from Monday night’s pageant were, left, first runner-up Jordan Bocook, daughter of Tim and Lisa Bocook of Casey County; winner Baylee Shofner, daughter of Adam Shofner and Amy Shofner, of Green County; right; second runner-up Ashtin Wallace, daughter of Mark and Dinah Wallace of Barren County rounded out the top three.

The Miss Teen Clinton County pageant was held Monday night, preceding the miss pageant. In the photo above, from left to right, first runner-up Taya Cook, daughter of Kevin and Tammy Cook of Albany; winner Alexis Best, daughter of Steven and Allison Best of Jamestown, KY.; and second runner-up Amber Allen, daughter of Cheryl Bookout of Albany, and Ken and Sandy Allen.

The Little Miss and Mister Clinton County pageant was held Saturday, June 11. Winners include, above, from left to right, first runners-up Emma Craft, daughter of Rian and Natalie Craft of Burkesville, KY, and Lance Willen, son of Lannie and Keisti Willen of Burkesville, KY.; winners were Dawson Marcum, son of Lane and Sloane Marcum of Albany, and Montana Doughty, daughter of Martina and the late Nathan Doughty of Albany; second runners-up were Gabrielle Mann, daughter of Shannon and Lisa Mann, of Russell Springs, KY, and Aaron Johnson, son of Jason and Alisha Johnson, of Russell Springs, KY.
