The Bluegrass Yakmasters spent last Saturday on Dale Hollow Lake for its first fishing tournament of the season for the club.
There was actually two tournaments being conducted simultaneously. One was the Bluegrass Yakmasters event, which is a statewide local (KY) club. The other was the KBF (Kayak Bass Fishing) Trail Event which partnered with the Bluegrass Yakmasters for just this one event.
There was also a Big Bass side pot, which contributed all proceeds to the Heroes on The Water charity, which focuses on getting veterans into kayaks, fishing and, most importantly, on the water in a stress free environment. The entry fee was $20 to the Heroes on The Water (HOW) big bass pot, with all of the funds going to the charity.
The Bluegrass Yakmasters had a total of 61 Anglers from Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. Nick McBride of Lexington Kentucky won that event with a total of 54” taking home $550. Jay Wallen placed second followed by Thomas Williams in third.
