Charles W. Shelton

Charles W. Shelton, 84, Monticello, Kentucky, passed away Friday, April 15, 2015 at his residence. He was a retired school teacher, a veteran of the Korean Conflict and member of Stony Point Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Homer Roscoe and Delia Sheffield Shelton and was also preceded in death by a brother, Dallas Shelton and a sister, Dorothy Drumright.

He is survived by his wife, Leta Kay Shelton, Monticello, KY; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet Lynn and Edward Tanner, GA; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn and Tilman Guffey and Ruby and John “Curly” Schmenk; a brother, John E. Shelton, all of Albany; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Danielle and Matthew Charles Tanner; also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Stony Point Baptist Church with Bro. Jim England, Bro. Gary Campbell and Bro. Larry Brown officiating. Final resting place in Shelton Cemetery with Military Honors. Arrangements were made through Talbott Funeral Home of Albany.
