The Clinton County Industrial Development Authority met in regular session last Thursday morning, April 14 at the IDA-Welcome Center with four members–just enough to constitute a quorum, on hand.
In the absence of board chairman Jim Soma, the brief meeting was led by vice-chairman Keith McWhorter.
The IDA opted to give the newly formed Clinton County Tourism Commission a boost, as on a motion by Glenn Ray Smith, seconded by Debbie Brown, voting to donate $1,000 to the tourist board to help in the printing of promotional brochures and setting up a Tourism Commission web page.
McWhorter, on behalf of the board, publicly thanked newest IDA member, Penny Jo Stearns. He said that “on behalf of the CCIDA, I’d like to commend Penny Jo Stearns for her hard work in forming the Clinton County Tourism Commission.”
McWhorter also recognized three current board members, Smith, Randy Speck and board treasurer Debbie Brown, for recently being reappointed by judge/executive Richard Armstrong. Each of those members’ terms will be for a four-year period.
The only other actions taken by the board was to pay claims and bills and approve IDA expenditures reports prior to adjourning.
The Industrial Authority’s next regularly scheduled meeting is Thursday, June 9 at 11 a.m. at the IDA-Welcome Center and is open to the general public.
