Emma McClellan is the proud winner of the Michael Wood Show Lamb Essay Contest. This is a memorial award established in the name of Michael Wood. Michael Wood worked full time within the livestock nutrition industry, until his death on October 25th, 2001.

One of his main interests in life was working with show lambs. The award established a show lamb that is presented to a 4-H or FFA member in Kentucky 4-H and/or Kentucky FFA Association. The program was established by Scott Wood and J.R. Zinner.

A local committee of volunteers assists in the promotion and judging of the essays. The program relies on Scott’s own flock as managed by “Wether or Not Showlambs” of Frankfort, KY.

Emma received one of five lambs given away this year. Emma is pictured with both of her lambs Reba and Meryl, and Scott Wood.

Emma is the 14 year-old daughter of David (B.J.) and Tammy McClellan.
